The insanity (yes, this is insanity: ordinarily and generally decent people choosing to associate with evil people over good people is insanity) of leftist academia is appalling as always. In the wake of the Ahmedinejad speech at Columbia University, the leadership of that asinine austere institution stated that they’d have hosted Hitler if he visited in 1938.

Ah, the joys of an easy target…

All my reading and perusing today seemed to be along the lines of the problem of Islam. There are several gems which I’d like to bring to y’alls attention.

The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) has put together rebuttals to the Amanpour slander-fest, CNN’s “Holy War”. I have not seen, nor do I care to see (as I like to avoid those things which will certainly shorten my life by raising blood pressure and depleting IQ) this series but I’ve heard naught but the most steady slamming of its vociferous and detestably slanderous lies. Even others in the MSM have taken shots at the show.

CAMERA breaks its rebuttals down into three separate articles :

1. God’s Jewish Warriors – CNN’s Abomination
   

   “God’s Jewish Warriors” (is) one of the most grossly distorted programs to appear on mainstream American television in many years. It is false in its basic premise, established in the opening scene in which Jewish (and Christian) religious fervency is equated with that of Muslims heard endorsing “martyrdom,” or suicide-killing. There is, of course, no counterpart among Jews and Christians to the violent jihadist Muslim campaigns underway across the globe, either in numbers of perpetrators engaged or in the magnitude of death and destruction wrought.

2. God’s Muslim Warriors — CNN’s Double Standard
   

   While much of the program was informative and fair (in contrast to the propagandistic nature of Part One,”God’s Jewish Warriors”), there were serious flaws and glaring omissions. Among the most important shortcomings, extremist Muslim beliefs and practices were often minimized and many of the key causes for the spread of Muslim supremacist beliefs went unexplored.

3. God’s Christian Warriors— CNN Slurs Christians
   

   At the end of this segment, devoted to “God’s Christian Warriors,” Amanpour left viewers with a warning that society cannot ignore “the millions of people who feel their faith is being ignored, is being pushed aside and who are certain they know how to make the world right.”

   Given the huge levels of religiously motivated violence taking place in the world today – most of it perpetrated by Muslims against Muslims – Amanpour is right. Religious fundamentalism cannot be ignored.

   But if Americans are going to determine how to respond to religious extremism on both an international and societal level, they surely cannot rely on Amanpour’s coverage of the issue. In her coverage of “Christian Warriors” Amanpour demonstrates a predictable inability to discern the difference between Christians in the U.S. who organize politically to affect public policy and suicide bombers in the Middle East who target civilians in an attempt to intimidate their opponents into submission.

So there you have it. CNN thinks I’m as likely as Sadr to kill and maim and destroy life and property merely because I believe that God (not Allah, the false god) has standards and rules and promises blessing to those who follow them. God, unlike the false demon Allah, forbids the killing of people except when they themselves have killed and are judged worthy of that judgment, instead reserving the right to vengeance to Himself and urging us instead to love and seek to turn those who disagree with us with tangible acts of mercy and humility.

Allah, the demon, requires that each of his servants be enactors of bloody retribution on those they deem his enemies. Humans cannot judge the heart or the motives, only God the Just Judge can do that. We have limited means of determining the real events while God with His infinite knowledge and wisdom and insight into each our hearts and minds is the perfect Judge and protects both the innocence of the innocent and the guilt of the guilty with His reserving that vengeance to Himself.

Islam also breed distrust and dishonesty among its adherents. It is permissible to lie in certain circumstances in Islam: when dealing with infidels (that’s us) and when your wife asks if you love her (that makes me mad and sad). In much the same way as Mormonism, the female in Islam is a second-rate baby machine whose purpose here and hereafter is to please the men by providing sexual service in a place of servitude,bringing (male) progeny for the man to further his name. The infidel exists only to be given one chance to convert and then to experience immediate destruction, often in humiliating and horrific manner. There is no acceptance. There is no forgiveness. There is no choice.

The FBI has been trying to find two men who have engaged in suspicious activities on Puget Sound ferries, the largest ferry system in the U.S. and the No. 1 target for maritime terrorism according to the Justice Department. The agency released a picture of the two, but the Seattle Post-Intelligencer won’t help. They ran a story on the issue, but cited “civil liberties” and “privacy” reasons for not publishing the pictures.

The FBI said the two men “showed an inordinate interest in the operation of the shipboard systems as opposed to the beautiful scenery passing by.”

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer wrote, “The PI selected not to publish the photos, citing civil liberties and privacy concerns, which editors felt outweighed the newsworthiness of the images. ‘We have no confirmation that these men’s behavior was anything but innocuous, and to forever taint them by associating them with terrorism under these circumstances is not consistent with our policy,’ said David McCumber, P-I managing editor.”

Bill Hobbs over at Newsbusters has a good insight on the whole “privacy and civil liberties” issue. The men in the photo were photographed in public while on a public ferry. I have no right to privacy when it comes to my appearance when I am in public. Yes, I have a right to privacy of my person, but not of my appearance. These men were in a public forum and had no legal right to privacy at the time.

“There is no invasion of their privacy, nor of their civil liberties, by publishing the photos so that the authorities can locate and speak with the men.”

Hobbs also points out that newspapers post pictures of anonymous crowds all the time without citing privacy concerns, so it a little hypocritical to pull the “privacy” card when so much could be at risk.

This activity is not new to the Washington state ferry system. In 2004, “Groups of men, including one tied to a federal terrorism investigation, have videotaped Washington ferry operations, prompting federal authorities to conclude the system has been under surveillance as a possible target for an attack.”

An audit of the state ferry system found that many of the ferries do not have enough flotation devices and rafts to fit the number of for only half their passenger capacity.

The paper is holding a haiku-writing contest for readers to write about how they feel about the FBI alert and the way the paper handled it.

“The local media had four options after they received an alert from the FBI about two ferry passengers wanted for questioning: run the photo, run the story, run the photo and the story or don’t run anything at all.

“In an earlier post, Managing Editor David McCumber explained our decision to leave the photo out of it.

“As the story develops today, what concerns you most: The possible threat to security? The way the alert was released? Something completely different? Put it in a three-line, 5-7-5 syllable bit of pop haiku for today’s contest.”

The Death of Sanity occurred many years ago. We’re only just realizing how bad it can be. The elppA giB will need to fight this stupidity with small words of precise meaning to reach the hazy brains of it’s primarily somethin’ rich smokin’ sycophants.

Meanwhile, down in Hollyweird, the parade of stupid kids who have stupid parents continues.

The good news is most hot air has a good chance of being just that, Hot Air. And if hot air is good for the islands, maybe it’s not so bad for the rest of us. But people keep screaming that all that hot air is going to be stirring things up over the oceans and drenching all of us with huge and frequent hurricanes. Just how long is our collective memory anyways? 30 seconds?

Coming soon to a Persistent Vegetative Person near you… (and no, that won’t work on your grown son or husband) Yes, we really didn’t have to kill that poor woman. But, speaking of vegetables, have you heard of Vegansexuals? And no, just no… Apparently though, some people have higher aspirations than coupling with a human vegetable.

Moving the battlelines a bit. The war in Iraq is going swimmingly, as wars go. And now we’ve got traditionally liberal pundits saying this whole surge thing just may be working. Some people immediately begin saying those two really were never liberal, others just agree.

And for the final bit of news, which just may be interesting and important, Russia is a boiling pot.

1. Smartest Woman On Earth? – Is Hillary really all that a a slice of cheese? Why won’t she release her college transcripts? If she couldn’t pass the DC Bar Exam, one of the easiest in the nation, why does she promote herself as the smartest woman on earth?
2. Profiles In Incompetence:  10-Part Series On The Worst President In American History – Yup, that’s Jimmy Carter, who so pointedly and ironically calls Mr. Bush the “worst President in history”. Funny how the Great Incompetents get together and think they still run things nowadays.
3. MS DNC – Like so many school yard children crying because they lost in a fair fight or because they can’t have what they want, Democrats clawing for a reinstatement of the “Fairness Doctrine” are unaware that in the substance-driven world of radio a pretty smile and a crying shame don’t get you listeners.
4. The Clintons Lulled Us Into War – If Rudy and Hillary face off as the nominees, Rudy promises to make Hill(o’ beans)ary answer why Willy did not attack Al Quaeda immediately after the first WTC attack.

You really can’t go wrong reading the IBD.

Cindy Sheehan is a coward, her son is a hero. This just goes to show there are some things genetics can’t buy.

Cindy was in Charlotte NC recently protesting the defense of our families and children against the unspeakable hatred (thanks Barb) which threatens us all. Veteran pro-defense organization Gathering of Eagles was there to protest her and support the war against terror. Cindy is a coward. I wonder what would happen were we to put her face-to-face with real protest, real hatred? Fortunately for her, and unfortunately for our pleasant little thought experiment there, we cannot, in the foreseeable future expect that to occur (I’m really getting an itch to Photoshop her into a burka and put her facing one of those rabid mobs).

When faced with people, veterans and their supporters, she hides in her car, does not speak to her adoring sycophantic com-idiots and leave for greener pastures at the earliest opportunity. Then she logs on to her buddy Michael Moore’s site and blogs about how mean and nasty everybody was, including the police. If she gets this upset over that little confrontation, how come she can’t understand people REALLY willing to hurt her.

I’ve been on an evil kick lately, and here’s the latest installment. Over at LittleGreenFootballs a post from yesterday has a YouTube video of a news report with clips of Muslim demonstrators showing their signs while protesting incarcerated Muslim leaders. Read the signs, that’s all I ask. I did not hear the audio, I just read the signs.

There’s soooo much good stuff out there, I couldn’t focus on anything specific to serve up to y’all. So here goes another thrilling episode of Todays Interesting Stuff:

First, a three articles on the War and President Bush:

• Rasmussen Reports: Bush’s job approval is up, particularly regarding the war.
• Washington Post: William Kristol on Why Bush Will Be A Winner, it really does boil down to the war.
• Bullwinkle Blog: What Democrats Said Before The Iraq War. They recognized then the need for intervention in that hellhole. They also recognized (and this is where they maintain their mental consistency) that people wanted them to fight this war. Now that they see powerful people against the war, the Soros’ and the jobless unwashed masses who spend their days protesting anything which speaks against their carefully nurtured bubble or a world, they have kept true to their aims for power and have unleashed their vitriol against those who stand between us and the abomination of (radical Islamic) desolation.

Next, a culture shock moment in Gary, Indiana

A good friend came to visit me a few weeks ago, we traveled down to Lousiville KY to visit some other friends and then on the way back we stopped in Gary, Indiana. This town is a sad testament to Union protectionism gone awry, government social programs working the way they usually do, and the indomitable human spirit being crushed under the weight of it’s own self-worth. We had to stop by this town because Professor Harold Hill, the Music Man, attended Conservatory here, graduating in the class of ‘05 (though it was revealed the conservatory did not open until ‘06). There is definite history here, but most of it has been forgotten. The culture shock came as my friend and I were looking for trinkets of baubles, touristy sorts of things she could get for her boyfriend. Initially we looked downtown, but in that depressed town the populace does not have either the money or the inclination to support anything touristy or sell anything touristy. My friend and I walked into a grocery store, and immediately the eyes of the entire store were upon us. We smiled affably at all, put on our clueless tourist faces and began to scour the aisles for trinkets and baubles. There were none to be found. We were the only two white people within 10 blocks at least. It wasn’t just one neighborhood either, but nearly the entire city. And it’s not inherently wrong or bad that there is a city so different from most other American cities, do not misread me. What struck me was the distrust I felt directed towards myself and my friend, the obviously depressed situation of a significant majority of these people. The friendly clerk at the gas station expressed her own commentary on this sad corner of America, “it sucks” she said, and she lives there.

Feeling Way Too White, from Emily Hauser and the Christian Science Monitor, talks of another Chicago suburb even closer to home for me. It really is the way she says it is.

And finally, the presidential race, particularly among the Republicans, introduces a classic American religion to the political big-shot race

Mormon, Governor, Republican Mitt Romney is running, and running well so far, for the Republican nod to head this greatest nation on God’s green earth. The Mormon bit has not been brought up very often, but I’d assume mostly that is a result of the media hoping against hope that there are big glaring billboard-sized issues they can attack in the as-yet-unnamed Republican nominee for President. A Mormon will have a target the size of a blimp over their heads, and better yet if they’re Republican.

But politics aside, the Mormon faith is an intriguing study, and from my perspective as a born-again Christian, entirely false. The worst bit being the differences between what their holy books teach and what the average Mormon is taught.

Two particularly salient discussions on the topic of Mormonism, one specifically from the political perspective and one specifically from the theological perspective, bring together great minds in a worthwhile discussion.

Are Mormons Christian? Is a debate hosted by BeliefNet between Dr Al Mohler, Dean of Southern Seminary and outspoken commentator on the Christian role in current affairs, and Orson Scott Card, Mormon, Democrat, Science fiction author (one of my favorite), and all around intelligent guy. I highly respect both of these men, Card because I’ve read nearly everything he’s ever published, and Mohler because I have good friends who attend his school and I’ve heard enough about him from people I trust. Note: This debate is rather hard to read, you have to start from the END of the page and read each preceding article in turn to follow the ideas.

Jack Murtha, the Democrat war veteran and outspoken critic of the War on Terror is a liar, and a particularly evil one at that. He knowingly and deliberate lied, slandering the careers and reputations of several marines serving honorably in the War on Terror in Iraq.

Some of you will remember the Haditha Massacre. If you don’t you ought to.

ABC News has an article on the sexual frustrations of single Palestinians, primarily from the perspective of the males. It seems that the backward economy and repressive social system are making it difficult if not impossible for many young Palestinians to marry. An intriguing look at an important part of an important culture in the world today. Read the comments on the article for a look at typical western responses ranging from “this is how they keep down abortion” to “they’ll eventually evolve to allow everybody to have sex with anyone, any time”.
