Harry Reid, Leader

Harry Reid, Leader

It is a normal trait of effective leaders that they find points of agreement between disparate viewpoints. Otherwise attempts at progress end in pointless wheel spinning as the factions go at each other with ferocity.

Especially bad is when the leader himself joins in the mud-slinging.

It’s a sign of anything from immaturity to imbecility. At the very least it shows they aren’t up to the job.

Enter Harry Reid. Ham-handed at best, he’s stooped low even for his own standards and equated those against the biggest boondoggle in the history of government with those against the abolition of slavery.

Yep. That’s right. A member of the party of the slave holders called people who are against the government taking over a 6th of the US economy the equivalent of slave holders.

Ironic, isn’t it?

Mr. Reid, it’s about time you got on the right side of history.

From CNN and Campbell Brown:

…we are again asking the President to explain why, exactly, that he announced, with great fanfare, new ethics rules if he had no intention of abiding by them.

Democrat leaders are often the first and loudest claiming the ethical and moral high ground.

I guess this is what happens when the high ground is defined by and populated with moral relativists.

The picture I get in my mind is all the righteous leaders of the Democrat party, Pelosi and Reid and Obama and all their entourage and Blagojevich, standing in a sea of muck and waste, drawing a circle around themselves with sidewalk chalk and claiming the land they stand on is high ground.

I should have spent more time in art class and turned that into a comic… Alas, I have not the skill. Just the dream

Hillary telling the truth is more dangerous than Honest Abe telling a lie. So Deitrich Bonhoeffer would argue:

“It is worse for a liar to tell the truth than for a lover of truth to tell a lie.”

Miguel Guanipa over at American Thinker uses this statement of Bonhoeffer’s to argue that Hillary’s habits of untruth make her moments of truth less than pristine and likely coldly calculated attempts to manipulate based on truth which supports her. Not based on her support of the truth.

A “falling away is worse than a falling down”. In other words, when a person who regularly speaks the truth utters a lie, he is merely suffering from a temporary lapse of judgment. In all likelihood he will be tempted and have recurrent lapses like these throughout his life; but the general direction in which he conducts his life will be one disposed towards honesty; he has merely “fallen down”.

On the other hand, when someone who is a chronic liar speaks the truth, it is not necessarily a sign of improvement, but a calculated attempt — by one who has mastered the art deceit — to manipulate the truth for his or her own purposes,. This act, which on its face may look like a valiant attempt at reformation, denotes instead a singularly pernicious kind of wickedness.

The Liar and the Bulldog apparently clean their YouTube channels of less than positive comments. From Verum Serum.

Hugh Hewitt asks if it would kill Time, or Harry Reid, or Nancy Pelosi, or any on the Left to give a “well done” to the American Military and it’s members.

*shudder*To think there are people who think this is good.

Democrat House staffers recommend getting full immunizations before going to NASCAR events. Recommended immunizations include the Hepatitis B (an STD) vaccine. Apparently their caricatured idea of NASCAR fans include homosexual and promiscuous hicks of varying degrees of uncleanness openly engaging in sexual acts in the stands and infield.

…either that or they think conservatism is transmittable. Heh, they have no idea.

(Ain’t worth a)Hill(of beans)ary Clinton says that for African Americans, she’s going to be Clinton.

…and how long ago did she drop Rodham?

…and that means they should vote for her, why? The inscrutable logic simply does not follow.

…and for all the Chinese- and Mexican-, and German-, and British-, Australian-, Swedish-, Spanish-, Brazilian-, and every other (hyphen) Americans, who will she be? Urkel?

Run, Al, run!

…anything to give the nutroots more choices. They are pro-murder “pro-choice”, right?

Speaking of running: Harry Reid may want to start running, along with Clinton, Schumer et al.

Democrats push through bill making sure we all know the Turks committed genocide 60 years ago.

I don’t deny it’s a good thing to be accurate, especially about such heinous events and crimes as genocide. But they’re our staunchest ally in the Mid-east region. And we need some clout with them to keep them from beginning a war on the northern border of Iraq with Kurd rebels who are taking shelter among some of our strongest supporters inside Iraq, the Kurds.

Either intelligence on the left side of the isle is lower than even I thought, or ego is even larger. Do we really have to lose at all costs?

It was aliens, I knew it.
