Wow Matthew. What an incredible and beautiful story. You are the second former roommate of mine to get married this year. May God richly bless your lives as they become one in Him.

Hi Matthew,

Great news! I wish you much good luck and happiness. My wife and I are rapidly approaching our 25th anniversary, and I hope you do at least as well. One tip for a happy marriage: help with the housework and make sure to work it into conversation with her friends. Women love that ;)

I think I'll make an honest post here.

But what honestly matters (coming from a four year marriage (Nov. = 5) and "newly wed in mind") is that you've found perfection in imperfection; which means you've found the one person whom you may equal with in imperfections and what more can we hope for... honestly?!

Matthew one, among the rest, of which I pray you heed is that of, "it's fair." Whenever you may become frustrated or confused remember a true marriage is fair. You are imperfect and so is she, but in different ways, yet it is fair and you make a great team. I will make no more assumptions than this; because I become bored of marriage advice. But please remember it. I am excellent at caring for the physical needs of our family from cooking, chores, car maintenance, business work etc. And Anna is perfect for caring for our family in general and encouraging me to be a better man; I need her... It is fair. And I think this should mean more for our generation than our previous who were either shallow in regard to ideals or materials.

A man needs! respect and a woman love (which I'd say is more complicated). :) . But a man must be respectable and woman loveable. Doing I don't think is the problem, but actually believing and feeling is the work; coming from a twice divorced family (my parents) I hope you'd trust my judgment. I hope and pray the best for you and hope to see you 'home' sometime soon. :)

Have fun!
