Listen, you and the Townhall folks are missing the big picture--the one without Republicans in control. McCain is brilliant in his strategy for actually preserving the right to filibuster in the Senate for federal judicial nominees. Without the brokered deal Republicans would be absolutely screwed when they find themselves in the minority b/c Republicans could never be able to challenge Dem federal judicial nominees if the Senate rules had changed. McCain preserved that important option. And the Supreme Court has Roberts and Alito to boot. So wake up.
